In the morning a guide and a driver will pick you up from your hotel in Tbilisi and start driving to Aspindza.Have a photo-stop at Khertvisi fortress (10-11 centuries), have a look at well-known Vani caves monastery complex and in 27 km from Aspindza visit astonishing cave city Vardzia – a multi-storied complex with streets, tunnels and stairs leading to monasteries, temples, fortress, bath, libraries dwelling houses and so on. You will learn interesting legends and enjoy beautiful panorama. The main period of construction was the second half of the twelfth century known as golden age of Tamar and Shota Rustaveli. King Tamar was the first women king of Georgia, Shota Rustaveli is the greatest contributor to Georgian literature the author of The Knight in the Panther`s Skinbeing the Georgian national epic poem.
